Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has denied releasing his manifesto.
Obi revealed this on Monday via his verified Twitter handle.
On Monday, October 31, a 48-page manifesto containing seven major agenda with the theme ‘Our Pact with Nigerians: Creating a New Nigeria’ was released. The manifesto listed seven major priorities that his administration plans to address head-on.
His plan covered food production, security, exporting, and several security aspects. As part of its purported program, the party promised to fight corruption, build the physical infrastructure, invest in technology, involve the youth, and pursue aggressive foreign policies to rebuild the political system.
However, Obi wrote, “We have not formally released our Manifesto. I will do so personally. It seems an earlier draft copy under review has made its way into the public space. Until I release the approved and final draft, please disregard what is being circulated.”

Earlier, Obi, while speaking with BBC, explained why his campaign platform for the 2023 election was delayed. He said, “he was waiting for the positions of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, before releasing his manifesto.
