After the break, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford added to the deficit, before Joao Felix grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors late on.
The result means Erik Ten Hag’s side is now sure of playing Champions League football, much to the dismay of Liverpool will participate in the Europa League, having missed out on a Champions League spot.
On the other, the defeat is Chelsea’s eighth in 10 games since Frank Lampard returned as caretaker manager, and the Blue’s 22nd in all competitions in an extremely shambolic season for the London club, their worst in almost two years.
