A total of 89 exceptional Nigerian students have successfully secured the prestigious and fully funded European Union (EU) Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree scholarships to study in various top-tier European universities for the upcoming academic session. The European Union Delegation to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) announced this milestone during a pre-departure orientation ceremony held in Abuja, noting that Nigeria has once again maintained its position as one of the top beneficiary countries globally for this competitive international funding program. The highly coveted scholarship package covers full tuition fees, travel expenses, a monthly living stipend, and comprehensive health insurance, allowing the brilliant awardees to pursue postgraduate degrees in specialized fields ranging from digital technology, engineering, and environmental sciences to public policy and international development.
Speaking at the event, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria congratulated the scholars for emerging successful out of thousands of applicants nationwide, describing them as excellent ambassadors who will build bridges of intellectual, cultural, and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Europe, while the excited awardees expressed immense gratitude for the life-changing opportunity to gain global exposure and acquire cutting-edge skills that they intend to bring back home to contribute to Nigeria’s sustainable national development.
