Nollywood queen Mercy Johnson-Okojie is officially “dropping the mic” on a legal battle that had the internet divided. On Saturday, January 17, 2026, the actress reportedly withdrew her defamation case against TikToker Eedie Bliss, leading to the content creator’s immediate release from police detention.
The drama trace back to December 2025, when rumors swirled online that Mercy’s husband, Prince Henry Okojie, had allegedly purchased a mansion for a pregnant mistress.
Eedie Bliss took to TikTok to discuss the unverified gist, citing the blog Cutie Juls as her source. However, she went a step further, alleging that Mercy had connived with a house help to cause the mistress to lose her pregnancy. For the Okojies, this was the final straw, leading to a petition and Eedie’s subsequent arrest in Abuja.
Eedie Bliss’s family was seen in viral videos pleading for her release—revealing she was actually scheduled to get married this past Saturday—social critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) stepped into the ring.
VDM didn’t hold back, accusing Mercy Johnson of hypocrisy. He pointed out that Mercy had recently criticized Ned Nwoko for arresting Regina Daniels’ brother over defamation, only to turn around and use the police for a similar civil matter.
“You can’t fight for the release of Sammy… then later turn around to do the same thing with your husband,” VDM stated in a fiery video, giving the actress an ultimatum to release the girl before her wedding day or face his legal team.
Mercy Johnson bowed to the public outcry and dropped the charges. By Saturday evening, Eedie Bliss was a free woman, just in time for her weekend festivities.
VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to thank the actress, surprisingly calling her his “Greatest of All Time” for doing the right thing. In an even wilder turn, he announced:
- “I am buying all defamation cases against Mercy Johnson and her family. The bullying is too much. You all should leave her family alone.”
