President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign has received another boost following the announcement of a new mobilisation drive by Middle Belt youths ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Aviation entrepreneur and political figure Isaac Balami announced that a group operating under the platform Middle Belt Youths for Asiwaju would mobilise support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
According to Balami, the decision followed consultations involving prominent leaders from the Middle Belt and North-Central region. He also referenced a recent meeting between the President and a delegation led by former Defence Minister, General Theophilus Danjuma.
The new group is expected to work with existing pro-Tinubu political structures, including the City Boy Movement, as supporters begin organising across the region.
The move is significant because the Middle Belt is an important political zone where competing parties will be looking to attract voters ahead of the next presidential election.
However, political endorsements do not automatically translate into votes. The real test will be whether the campaign can connect with ordinary Nigerians, particularly young people who want practical solutions to unemployment, insecurity, economic hardship and other national challenges.
As political mobilisation gathers momentum, more groups are expected to declare their positions and announce strategies for the 2027 contest.
