Tragedy struck the coastal community of Igbokoda in the Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State after an aircraft went down into a river, leaving several people feared dead and triggering widespread panic across the riverine axis.

The incident occurred near the Forward Operating Base of the Nigerian Navy along Larada Street in Igbokoda. Reports indicate that the military aircraft was on a routine flight en route from Benin to Lagos when it suffered a sudden emergency and plunged into the river terrain.
