Nestlé and NBA Team Up to Empower Nigerian Basketball Stars

Nigerian secondary school hoopers are about to experience a massive game-changer on the court! Food and beverage giant Nestlé has officially joined forces with the National Basketball Association (NBA) in a landmark multi-year international marketing partnership designed to take youth basketball development to extraordinary new heights.

Under this historic global collaboration, iconic Nestlé flagship brands—led by MILO—have become Official Partners of the NBA across 21 countries on four continents, with Nigeria taking center stage in the rollout.

For over two decades, the MILO Secondary Schools Basketball Championship has served as the heartbeat of grassroots hoops in Nigeria, reaching more than 13,000 schools in 2026 alone. Now, this local legacy is connecting directly to the biggest basketball platform on the planet.

Through the new partnership, young Nigerian student-athletes will gain direct access to elite NBA youth programs, including the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA, NBA Basketball School, Jr. NBA Coaches Academies, NBA 3X tournaments, and the empowering Her Time To Play initiative for young girls. Beyond clinic coaching, fans and kids can look forward to NBA-branded retail promotions, interactive fan experiences, and opportunities to win official NBA merchandise and game tickets.

Leadership from both Nestlé Nigeria and the NBA expressed immense excitement about the future, noting that combining MILO’s deep-rooted community presence with the NBA’s global reach will inspire millions of kids to learn valuable life values like discipline, teamwork, and resilience through sport.
