Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso Set to Expose Nigerian Politicians Backing Bandits

Intelligence agencies from Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso say they are preparing to release the names of senior Nigerian politicians alleged to be backing bandit groups operating in Nigeria’s North-West. The revelation was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to Makama, officials from the agencies disclosed that they already have a list of politicians suspected of aiding criminal gangs. Some individuals accused of supplying weapons to the bandits have also been arrested, with investigations currently underway.

The agencies explained that this move is part of wider regional efforts to dismantle cross-border criminal networks that have fueled insecurity across West Africa.

This development underscores the deepening security collaboration among Sahelian states, particularly in combating armed groups and the illicit flow of arms across national boundaries
