Former Minister of State for Works and National Chairman of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA ’23), Senator Dayo Adeyeye, has stated that only President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola hold the power to resolve their long-standing political differences.
Speaking during a political interaction, Adeyeye addressed the lingering rift within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, emphasizing that external mediation can only achieve so much when two political heavyweights have a shared history spanning decades. He reminded party faithful that the relationship between Tinubu and Aregbesola was forged through years of intense political struggles, shared victories, and joint governance, making their bond far deeper than routine political disagreements.
“These two leaders have come a long way together. Whatever misunderstandings exist between them can best be resolved by the two of them sitting in a room to iron things out,” Adeyeye noted, cautioning party members against fueling division or taking sides for personal gain. He expressed optimism that mature leadership and mutual respect will ultimately prevail, paving the way for full reconciliation and a united front for the APC across the South-West region.
Adeyeye called on party loyalists and grassroots supporters in Osun State to prioritize peace, avoid inflammatory statements, and maintain confidence in the party’s overarching leadership as efforts continue to solidify unity ahead of upcoming political engagements.
