Veteran singer, 2Face Idibia has reconfirmed that he and his wife, Annie Idibia are getting a divorce, after it was initially stated that his account was hacked.
Social media was thrown into a frenzy after 2Baba announced on his page that his marriage with his wife, Annie Macauley has crashed, and have been living separately for a while now.
He followed up by disclosing that they would be getting a divorce soon. After he made the post, he came back online to disclose that his account had been hacked, therefore debunking the earlier post.
However, in a few minutes times, he shared a video stating that his account wasn’t hacked, maintaing that he said what he said.
2Face took to his Instagram page to reveal that contrary to what was posted on his account about it being hacked, nobody did; he was the one that made the post about the divorce, adding that he stands by what he said.
“Yeah my people men, nobody hack my account, na me talk wetin I wan talk, you understand; I come in peace,” he said in the video.
Reacting to his reconfirmation, media personality Toke Makinwa came for his head. In response to the video shared by 2Face, Toke commented:
“This is wrong on all levels, and you should be ashamed of yourself for bringing this here. Bring it on. If you think she’s alone, let me tell you here that you’ll have to fight all of us.”
On her Instagram story, Toke further criticized those who have chosen to remain neutral, stating:
“I’m not one for too much talk, but what is wrong is wrong, and as a woman, if you sit on the fence on this one, if it misses you, it’ll touch your daughter or any female in your family. No one is innocent, and if you want to bring the media into it, knowing what is happening, we would fight for her.”
Businesswoman and founder of DANG, Ifedayo Agoro, has also dragged 2baba for choosing the wrong time to announce their divorce when the public was picking at Annie for her appearance at the Young Famous and African reality show.
She wrote: “First they groom you, then you lose yourself and then they dump you. I am sooo angry! l never involve myself with things like this but this is disgusting behaviour by this man.
“In the time when this woman is being bashed, you had to say this? Knowing you constantly humiliated her publicly since I was 18 years old? Why now? Why heap more fire on her reputation?
“Never ever ever choose a man over yourself No one is INDISPENSABLE! Gosh!”
Meanwhile, media personality Tosin Silverdam has a different thing to say about the entire ruckus. Tosin Silverdam has questioned why men are always blamed when things go wrong in their marriages.
He maintained that the backlash on 2Face is hypocritical especially from celebrities championing the cause like Toke Makinwa.
He wrote, “Why are they blaming the men? Toke Makinwa and others are already blaming 2Face for his marriage separation and announcement.
“What if it was Annie Idibia that announced it first, they would support her and give her kudos.”
