The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially passed a resounding vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, giving a full green light to their joint ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The high-powered endorsement was announced following the conclusion of the party’s National Strategic Retreat and 195th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held in Maiduguri, Borno State. Reading the official communiqué, APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, declared that a thorough review of the party’s internal machinery returned a “clean bill of health,” assuring members that the ruling party remains united, healthy, and perfectly oiled for total victory.
The vote of confidence extended beyond the presidential pair to cover all candidates produced through the party’s primary processes. “We pass a vote of confidence on our presidential candidate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, and all other candidates of our party,” Yilwatda affirmed, describing the lineup as the most pedigreed and prepared leaders to serve Nigerians. The party leadership dismissed rumors of internal friction or plans to alter the presidential ticket, emphasizing that the administration’s socio-economic reforms and infrastructure footprint will earn them sweeping support from voters nationwide.
To ensure an unshakeable front ahead of campaign season, the APC NWC mandated the immediate setup of peacebuilding and reconciliation committees across all states, local governments, and wards. Party leaders pledged to lead from the frontlines, driving grassroots mobilization to solidify their dominance across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
