Onwordi Exonerates Wike From PDP Crises

The Onishe of Ubulu Uku Kingdom and Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation Chief James Onwordi Asika Ibori Ubulu has chastised the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national leadership for failing to address the party’s current issue.

He blamed the party’s problems on inadequate leadership and demanded a leadership change.

Onwordi exonerated the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of guilt, stating that his enormous investments in the party have earned him the affection of Nigerians. He stated that Wike’s actions were in response to the party’s failure to address internal issues and that Wike had a good impact on the party, despite his opposition to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

He also criticised Dino Melaye for his actions, which he claims have harmed the party’s image and caused internal divisions, he also stated that Dino Melaye’s behaviour during the 2023 general elections was seen as contradictory to the party’s ideology, and that he hasn’t contributed to the growth of the PDP, implying that he has not worked to strengthen the party or promote its values.

Onwordi voiced unhappiness with Iliya Damagum’s position as interim national chairman, citing the party’s continued turmoil.

He also expressed his discontent with Adolphus Wabara, the Chairperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BOT), he stated that despite his leadership position, Wabara has failed to unify the party. He also chastised Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate, for failing to unite the party and address post-election concerns.

Onwordi claimed that Atiku’s priority is to secure the party’s presidential ticket for 2027, rather than solving the party’s current issues.

Despite these hurdles, Onwordi praised the PDP’s tenacity, citing the number of governors and defections from the All Progressive Congress (APC) as proof of the party’s strength. He emphasised the necessity for the party to band together and work towards a shared objective in order to overcome its challenges and emerge stronger in the future.
