Wilfried Zaha, opened the scoring to become the first player to score 50 top-flight goals for Crystal Palace before Aymeric Laporte got sent off before the break to further frustrate the hosts.

With a man down, the Citizens did show resilience, but it wasn’t their say as Phil Foden’s equalizer got ruled out for offside in the build-up by the video assistant referee.

It was Palace that eventually doubled their lead when Conor Gallagher fired home two minutes from stoppage time, as City dropped three points and slipped five points behind table-toppers,  Chelsea, who defeat Newcastle 3-0.
