Phyna is fuming, and rightfully so. The BBNaija winner didn’t hold back when the Dangote Group issued a statement about her sister, Ruth Otabor, who was horribly injured in a truck accident that led to leg amputation.
Dangote’s statement mentioned they visited the accident scene and the family at the hospital, pledged to “ensure full support,” including medical care and compensation, with wishes for a “speedy recovery.” But for Phyna, those words felt tone-deaf and even disrespectful.
She fired back online, asking, “Appropriate compensation? Quick recovery from an already amputated leg? What necessary speed are you taking right now?” Her words landed hard. She didn’t stop there, she also called out the company’s team for visiting the hospital and taking photos without consent, then posting them publicly. She asked bluntly, “Who gave you permission to snap any member of my family and post it online?” And she won’t tolerate it again, as she went ahead to ban any cameras from future meetings related to the case.
Phyna also questioned the tone and intent behind referring to her sister as “Mrs. Ruth Otabor,” wondering what narrative the company was trying to spin. She warned, “Na money you get, you no be God,”
