Streams of Joy International convener Pastor Jerry Eze has delivered a heartfelt, kneeling apology to tens of thousands of worshippers who were turned away from the NSPPD UK Prayer Conference at Manchester United’s iconic Old Trafford stadium.
The highly anticipated prayer event completely overwhelmed the 74,000-capacity arena, leaving massive crowds stranded outside despite securing advance registrations. Devoted attendees had traveled from across the globe—including Australia, Sweden, and North Macedonia—only to discover that security officials were forced to shut the gates due to extreme safety and crowd capacity limits.
Addressing the viral outcry and social media heartbreak on Instagram, a visibly moved Pastor Eze dropped to his knees to beg for forgiveness, admitting he had been deeply troubled since learning about the turned-away attendees.
“I want to sincerely, from the depth of my heart, apologize,” Eze pleaded. “I see your pain on social media. Some people traveled so far to be here, and I cannot express how bad I felt. Please forgive us; we will make sure this never happens again.”
While the turnout firmly cements the massive global reach of Nigerian gospel ministries, the organizer promised better logistics and larger arrangements for future international gatherings.
