Popular Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor has faced online backlash for the prolonged mourning of her late colleague and friend, Junior Pope, who tragically passed away in a boat accident in Anambra state.
The incident, which occurred months ago, left the entertainment industry in mourning and fans grieving the loss of the beloved actor.
Ruby Ojiakor however, has constantly openly expressed her profound sadness over Junior Pope’s death since the news broke.
Recently, she took to her Instagram account to share a photo she and the late Junior Pope had taken.
Sharing the photo, she wrote;
“Exactly one month today at UKEHE… Forever in our hearts my Friend and biggest bro ‘AKPA SWAG’ 🙏😭 IT IS WELL 🙏 HE LIVES ON 🙌.”
While some have comforted her, others have stated that her mourning was prolonged. Some also accused her of mourning more than the actor’s wife.

While netizens criticized Ruby Ojiakor for crying more than the bereaved, a cybernaut who appeared to be in support of Ruby’s move took to the comment section to urge Ruby Ojiakor to continue, stating that people who have a problem with her frequent posts about Jnr Pope are those who want the actor’s legacy to be forgotten.
