Barcelona completely out played and outclassed Real Madrid to claim the Spanish Super Cup in an entertaining final in Saudi Arabia.
Kylian Mbappe gave Madrid an early lead five minutes into the game, putting Carlo Ancelotti’s on course to what was expected to be a great start, but everything spiraled downwards when Lamine Yamal equalized for Hansi Flick’s side in the 22nd minute.
Yamal’s equalizer opened the floodgates as Barcelona were already 4-1 at half time.
After the break, Raphinha made it 5 with his second goal of the night and soon after, Wojciech Szczesny got sent off for a foul on Mbappe.
The numerical advantage didn’t do much for the humiliated Madrid side who had no way of getting back into the game, despite Rodrygo pulling one back in the 60 minute to make it 5-2.
