The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled five-hour power outage affecting Bida and several surrounding communities in Niger State, to allow engineering crews to execute crucial maintenance work.
According to the official advisory, the temporary service interruption is designed to facilitate annual preventive maintenance on the 60MVA 132/33kV power transformer and associated switchgear at the Bida Transmission Substation.
- Scheduled Timeframe: The maintenance window runs between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., during which time the bulk power supply to the area is temporarily suspended.
- Impacted Areas: The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) is unable to supply power to customers across Bida Town, the Army Barracks, Agaie, Doko, Baro, Zago, Emi Rani, Bussu, Laugba Goshigi, Lafiyagi Essa, Amgulu, Mansantali, Low Cost, Masaga, and surrounding villages.
- Commitment to Restoration: TCN management expressed regret over the inconveniences caused to residents and businesses, assuring consumers that normal electricity supply will be restored immediately upon the successful completion of the maintenance exercise.
