Veteran media personality and co-host of TVC’s Your View, Yeni Kuti, has strongly defended celebrity fashion designer Abiodun Tokunbo (CEO Luminee) following the heavy social media backlash that trailed her newborn baby announcement with Nollywood comic actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely known as Baba Ijesha.
The entertainment landscape was thrown into shock earlier this week when Baba Ijesha, who was released from prison in November 2025 after a highly publicized minor sexual assault conviction, announced that he and CEO Luminee had been quietly married for 12 years and had just welcomed a baby boy named King Kagar Omiyinka. The sudden revelation sparked a massive digital uproar, with critics aggressively trolling Luminee and questioning why a prominent, self-made businesswoman would choose to remain with and bear a child for a convicted sex offender.
Reacting to the ongoing public moral trial during a live broadcast session, Yeni Kuti firmly dismissed the internet’s outrage, arguing that people should respect individual agency. She maintained that Luminee is an independent, mature adult who has the absolute right to make her own marital and family choices, irrespective of public approval or her husband’s past criminal record.
