Shocking Demise: Bayelsa Monarch Moses Theophilus Kenibara VII Passes Away

The Ijaw nation and Bayelsa State traditional council have been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden passing of revered royal father, His Royal Highness Moses Theophilus Kenibara VII, the Amadabo of Moko-Ama in Akassa Kingdom, Brass Local Government Area, at the age of 64.

The late monarch, who also served as the Chairman of the Central Zone of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) and Chairman of the Akassa Clan Council of Chiefs, was widely celebrated across the Niger Delta for his steadfast commitment to peacebuilding, regional security, and host-community development.

Crowned in 2016 as the traditional ruler of Moko-Ama, King Moses Theophilus frequently described his ascension to the throne as a divine calling. Beyond his traditional responsibilities, he played a pivotal role in mediating community affairs, advocating youth empowerment, and championing sustainable development through the KEFFESO Host Community Development Trust.

News of his unexpected demise sparked an outpouring of emotional tributes on social media, with political leaders, traditional institutions, and Ijaw youths expressing shock and sorrow over the loss of a voice that consistently fought for regional stability.

While official palace statements and traditional funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family and council of chiefs, his passing marks the end of a remarkable era of dedicated service to his kingdom and the broader Niger Delta region.
