Tiwa Savage and Berklee College of Music Partner to Empower 100 African Music Talents

Afrobeats icon Tiwa Savage has officially moved from making hits to building a legacy. On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the superstar launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a philanthropic initiative designed to equip the next generation of African creatives with the technical and business skills needed to dominate the global stage.

The foundation’s flagship project, “Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program,” is a high-impact partnership with her alma mater, the prestigious Berklee College of Music. For the first time ever, Berklee is bringing its “Berklee on the Road” curriculum to West Africa. This four-day intensive, held in Lagos from April 23–26, 2026, will provide fully funded training for 100 selected participants across live performance, songwriting, music production, and the business of music.

Tiwa, who attended Berklee on a scholarship herself at age 24, emphasized that the foundation isn’t just for singers. The focus is on the entire ecosystem—the “unsung heroes” like sound engineers, entertainment lawyers, and producers. “Talent is universal, but access is not,” she noted, adding that as AI reshapes the industry, African creatives must be “educated leaders, not just observers.” Applications are now open until March 20, 2026, for creators across the continent who are ready to turn their passion into a sustainable career.
