The Obidient and Kwankwasiyya Movements have strongly vowed to resist what they described as desperate, targeted attempts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration to ensure that the joint presidential ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), featuring former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, is excluded from the ballot in the 2027 general election. Speaking at a joint press conference in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, insisted that a recent judgment by the Federal High Court in Lokoja—which set aside an earlier ruling compelling INEC to register the party—was systematically engineered by a face-less entity just three days after Obi formally joined the party to dismantle a viable opposition platform out of fear of their unstoppable coalition. Tanko delivered a blunt warning to the ruling elite, asserting that the Nigerian judiciary is actively surrendering its independence to executive dictation and being weaponized as a tool of partisan warfare; he warned that by converting the courtrooms into a marketplace where justice goes to the highest bidder, the compromised benches are driving the country toward a dangerous tipping point where citizens may stop recognizing legal authority and resort exclusively to the court of public opinion and the streets. Reaffirming their ultimate resolve to rescue the nation through compassionate, competent leadership, the opposition coalition demanded an immediate end to executive manipulation, confidently stating that the formidable Obi-Kwankwaso ticket will remain firmly on the 2027 ballot to defeat President Bola Tinubu, the APC, INEC, and all other state machineries working against the birth of a new Nigeria.
