Renowned Nigerian media personality, actress, and entrepreneur, Toke Makinwa, is one of the country’s most influential figures in entertainment and lifestyle. Known for her transparency and strong online presence, the award-winning host recently gave fans a glimpse into her personal life as a new mother.
Toke Makinwa has revealed the reason she stopped breastfeeding her daughter, Yakira Eliana, just three weeks after birth.

During a Q&A session on her Snapchat account, the popular OAP explained that her breast milk supply ceased, forcing her to make the difficult decision to stop breastfeeding earlier than planned.
Toke disclosed that despite her best efforts to maintain her milk flow, her body simply stopped producing milk, prompting her to transition away from exclusive breastfeeding.
“My breast milk stopped flowing after three weeks. I tried everything to make it continue, but it didn’t work,” she shared.
The lifestyle influencer, who welcomed her daughter in August 2025, shared her experience to shed light on the challenges some new mothers face after childbirth.
Her openness has sparked conversations among fans and fellow mothers, many of whom praised her for normalizing real motherhood experiences and reminding others that every woman’s journey is unique.
