The Three Lions were three goals up at half time, thanks to Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling.
After the break, Mehdi Taremi, pulled one back for Iran and Gareth Southgate’s boys responded with three more goals, through, Saka, again, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish.
Taremi’s scored a second from the spot for Iran, but it did nothing to alter the perfect start for the young English side, who top Group B, where they also have Wales and the USA to play in Group B.
