Fast-rising Nigerian singer Yedika is enjoying a major career breakthrough after being selected by Apple Music as the latest Nigerian artiste featured in its prestigious Up Next development programme.
The recognition is a significant step for the young singer, who is gradually building a name for himself with a sound that blends Afrobeats and Afro-fusion.
Born in Kano and raised in Lagos, Yedika draws inspiration from his multicultural background. His breakout single, Believe, has reportedly surpassed five million streams across digital platforms, while his debut EP, Motion, has crossed seven million streams.
The project has also earned placements on four editorial playlists, giving the emerging singer more visibility among music lovers.
Reacting to the recognition, Yedika described the opportunity as a dream come true, revealing that he only started releasing music in 2026.
The Apple Music Up Next programme has previously spotlighted several internationally recognised artistes, including Rema and Tems. Being selected therefore gives Yedika an opportunity to introduce his music to a wider audience.
With songs such as Compare, Celebe and Pepeneda adding to his growing catalogue, the singer appears determined to make the most of this opportunity.
Nigerian music fans may want to keep an eye on this rising star.
