Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has reacted as an NGO set to hold a solidarity assembly for the late singer Ilerioluwa Promise popularly known as Mohbad.
Mohbad a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, tragically passed away at 27 under unclear circumstances on September 12, 2023.
Ahead of his first remembrance in a few days, Break The Silence Foundation is organizing a solidarity assembly for fans and lovers of the singer in front of The High Court (Coroner Inquest), Ikorodu, Lagos, on September 11th. He stated that the assembly would continue demanding justice for the late entertainer.
The organizers, however, made it known that volunteers shouldn’t assemble in the field and there should be no music, noise or chanting in front of the court. He stressed that the assembly is a peace movement for justice.
Reacting to it via his Instagram page, Yomi Fabiyi showed support for the solidarity walk as he reposted the announcement.

Kindly join us, other volunteers, and activists of JUSTICEFORMOHBAD as we stage peaceful and solidarity STAND-UP in support of the family of Late ILERIOLUWA PROMISE A,loba a.k.a Mohbad, in front of The High Court(Coroner Inquest), Ikorodu, Lagos, as we continue to demand JUSTICE for the late Hip Hop singer and entertainer.

This comes shortly after the family of the late singer appealed to organisations and individuals planning to celebrate the first anniversary of his death to suspend their plans.
This was contained in a statement signed by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the family’s legal team.
The family expressed their desire to mourn their son in peace, without elaborate events that might affect their emotions.
“It has come to the attention of the Aloba family that some organisations have been planning to celebrate the first anniversary of the death of our late son and singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad). The Aloba family wishes to appeal to such interest groups to suspend such ideas.
“The late singer is yet to be buried. As such, the family would wish the public to join them in prayers at his anniversary rather than organise any elaborate event that will affect their emotions.
“It is no longer news that some individuals and organisations have been planning to carry out events to commemorate the late singer’s death.
“We will appeal to such persons and organisations to seek proper approval from the family before going on with such plans. The Aloba family would not wish the goodwill of their illustrious son to be employed for commercial purposes”.
The family has urged individuals and organisations to respect their wishes and join them in prayers during this difficult time.
