2023: Obi Meets with Obasanjo

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, paid former President Olusegun Obasanjo a visit while he was in the capital of Ogun State, Abeokuta.

Following their meeting, Obi posted pictures of their encounter on his verified Twitter account.

Remember that this was the Labour Party candidate’s second visit to Obasanjo at his home in Abeokuta.

Obi claimed to have had in-depth conversations with the former president about matters of potential national interest.

Obi wrote, “I deeply appreciate the opportunity to hold extensive discussions with President Olusegun Obasanjo earlier today on arising national interest matters. As usual, the exchanges were forthright and animated. -PO”

Empire had reported that the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Datti Baba-Ahmed had visited former military presidents General Abdulsalami Abubakar and General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB).

“It was a pleasure and honour for me and my running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, to be hosted by Nigeria’s military president, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, GCFR, at his home in Minna today,” Obi posted.

Adding, “Gen. Abubakar is a true statesman with an abiding love for Nigeria who fueled our hope for a better future.”

The former Anambra State governor, in a similar post, said, “Today, my running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed and I visited President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, GCFR, at his home in Minna.

“He received us very warmly, and we had insightful conversations on the state of affairs in our country.

“We are grateful to IBB for his fatherly welcome and counsel,” the LP presidential flagbearer stated.
