Britney Spears and husband Sam Asghari split after one year of marriage

Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari have split after 14 months of marriage over cheating allegations.

According to TMZ, the singer, 41, and the actor, 29, have gone their separate ways after a ‘nuclear argument’ that saw Asghari confront his wife over rumors she was unfaithful.

“Sam confronted Britney over rumors she stepped out on him. We do not know if the rumor has any basis in fact, but we’re told Sam believed it and the two had a huge fight”, sources told TMZ.

Sam has also reportedly moved out of their house and is now living in a place of his own.

Meanwhile, Britney has a prenup that protects her assets, but Sam Asghari her to pay him more than what their prenup provides in order to keep her secrets following their split.

An insider told Pagesix that “Sam is attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”

It is unclear how much money Asghari wants or whether the current prenup permits disclosures of negative information. 

However, a source told the outlet that it’s unlikely the prenup will be thrown out and that it’s more likely that ‘Britney will write a check to Sam and that will be the end of it.’

Britney has hired celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, who boasts A-list clients such as Kim Kardashian, Kevin Costner, and Johnny Depp.

Sam and Britney started dating back in 2016 when he got a gig in one of her music videos. 

Asghari proposed to Spears at their home in September 2021.

While engaged, the pair announced they were expecting their first child together, but later said there had been a miscarriage.

Spears was previously married to childhood friend Jason Alexander for 55 hours in 2004, and rapper Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007. She has two children with Federline.
