Chelsea wins Club World Cup

A 177th minute well taken penalty bh Kai Havertz, saw Chelsea edge past Brazilian side, Palmeiras to lift their first ever Club World Cup.

The blues had took the lead nine minutes after the break, through a Romelu Lukaku header, before Raphael Veiga levelled from the spot for Palmeiras just past the hour mark.

With both teams failing to take more of their chances, the game got into extra time, and as penalty shoot-out loomed, Palmeiras defender, Luan, got adjudged for a handball, a decision which saw German playmaker, Havertz secured the trophy for Thomas Tuchel’s side right there under the bright lights in the heart of the United Arab Emirates.
