“He forced me to make the apology, we are not back together”- Fancy Achulonu clears the air on status with Alex Ekubo
Fancy Acholonu’s relationship with Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo is putting us in a constant state of dilemma, as they’ve progressed from a crashed engagement to a public ‘not-so-apology’.
Acholonu who got engaged to Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, in May 2021, suddenly called off their already-scheduled wedding in August of the same year.
A whole year later, Fancy popped up on social media with a lengthy apology to Alex, asking him to take her back.
In her apology, Fancy also stated that she has realised her mistakes and affirmed that her heart still belonged to the actor as losing him “felt like grief.”
Her post triggered reactions and the media was torn between those who were happy they finally sorted out their differences, and those who thought either of the two deserved better than each other.
Fast forward to New year’s Eve, Fancy made a post affirming that this is a year where she would be fearless, strong and speak up for her rights.
“Happy New Year everyone 2023 will be my year of strength, being fearless, speaking up for myself & FINALLY no longer under anyone’s control. I’m free, the chain is broken. May God bless us all”, she wrote.
In a comment underneath the post, a fan asked, “Did Alex convince you to make that apology post? I saw something on the blogs. If he did, sis that is extremely manipulative you should run for your life. He wanted to use you for revenge”.
In response, Fancy wrote, “Yes he did. It’s true. I fell for it. My eyes are now fully open. I’m at peace and now have full understanding.
Another fan told her that she shouldn’t feel compelled to answer these questions about her life and relationship and she responded,
“I never wanted my private life to be public. Now that it is, I’m trying to manage it the best way I can. I did not ask for any of this. Alex wanted all these public apologies, I’ve been wanting to stay private. I’m now living on my own terms. You don’t know the full story so just be kind”.
