The news triggered mixed reactions on the internet, as this is the first time in 12 years that Wizkid has not been nominated for a Headies award.

A Twitter user @DerrickBugatti shared a screenshot of an alleged Instastory post by Animashau, where the CEO allegedly explained that Wizkid submitted his album for nomination..

“To everyone complaining, Wizkid’s MLLE album was actually submitted to Headies but got declined because we are not accepting just anything, maybe he should work hard for next year!” the Instastory post read.

In reaction through his verified Instagram page, Ayo Animashaun, the CEO of Smooth Promotions dismissed the viral report credited to him, adding that it was photoshopped.

Sharing a screenshot of the post, Animashaun wrote; “This is malicious! It’s photoshop. Fake! Not me.”
