I learned a lot while in Kuje Prison – Nyame

Former Governor of Taraba, Rev. Jolly Tavoro Nyame, has vowed to be a capable leader if given a second chance to preside over the affairs of the state.

He stated this during a Thanksgiving service that took place at the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN secretariat in Jalingo.

His comments follow lessons he learned while serving his jail terms in the Kuje correctional center.

According to the former governor, with priceless lessons learned from the experience, he was now better equipped to lead Taraba State’s citizens.

He said, “I learned a lot while in Kuje Prison and the hospital. If given another opportunity to lead the people of Taraba State, I will do better because of the experience I have gained.”

Stressing the importance of faith and resilience, Nyame advised leaders to stand firm in the face of challenges.

Speaking to Nigerians the former governor said he was filled with personal reflections and messages of optimism and solidarity, stressing the value of prayer and faith for the country’s future.

He urged Nigerians to be prudent in their expenses while calling on the government to prioritize policies that enhance the lives of citizens.

Meanwhile, Nyame claimed that his detention was politically motivated, having spent only four years of a fourteen-year sentence.
