Off-Cycle Guber: PDP To Analyse Imo, Kogi Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says that before deciding on its next course of action, it is analyzing the results of the governorship elections that were held last Saturday in Kogi and Imo.

The National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Umar Damagum, stated this on Tuesday in Abuja during a news conference after the meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC).

Notwithstanding the PDP’s doubts about the judicial system, he urged voters to pursue their complaints through the legal system.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on the judiciary to be responsive and responsible in dispensing justice in this country because we need this country.

“This country is bigger than all of us. It will outlive all of us”, urging that everyone should know that there is going to be a judgment day,” he said.

The national chairman pledged that the National Working Committee of the party would keep ensuring that it remained indivisible and strong.

He urged members of the party to individually and collectively reflect on their actions and inactions before, during, and after the election.

“I want to assure them that we continue to do justice. We are ready to take all the blame because after every election there will be blame but all members should reflect on the roles they played during campaigns, during elections, and after.

“We should have a self-reflection so that at the end of the day, we shall know whether we are doing the right thing because we all need this party.

“Our duty here is to make sure that this party remains indivisible, “ he said.

Damagum also asked Nigerians to maintain calm and ask God to step in and take over the country’s affairs.
