Portable copied my style – Terry G
Controversial singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has triggered reactions and opinions after he alleged that his colleague, Portable, imitated his persona but failed to replicate his musical prowess.
Speaking in a recent episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, Terry G claimed that Portable copied his way of acting, but didn’t copy his style of music.
The ‘Akpako Master’ as he is fondly called said: “Portable picked the acting part of me. He didn’t pick the musical part of me. Music is about the instruments. Is it only about your voice? He didn’t create time to learn any instrument.”
The ‘Akpako Master’ also addressed a previous altercation with fellow artist AY, shedding light on their dispute over the song “Pass Me Ur Luv.”
“I beat AY.Com, I produced ‘Pass Me Ur Luv’, sang the hook, and also had a verse on the song, so nobody has the right to tell me not to perform that song at my shows. Moreover, he didn’t pay me for the production,” Terry G stated.
During The Honest Bunch Podcast, the singer also stated that he finds the comparison of Davido and Wizkid to be blinding and petty because it is obvious how different they are from one another.
Given that Davido’s music is rooted in Africa, the “Run Mad” crooner—who recently admitted to singing for the devil—proclaimed Davido as the King of Africa. Regarding Wizkid, Terry G clearly stated that his music is unrelated to Africans and he has a different perspective.
In response to a question about Burna Boy’s classification, he declared that the singer is both an African and international musician.
