Singer Timi Dakolo Slams APC For Using His Music to Rally Without Permission

Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo is not taking it likely with the All Progressives Congress, APC, for using one of his songs during their national convention in Abuja on Tuesday, without first seeking his consent.

Timi Dakolo’s hit song, ‘Great Nation’ was played at the APC’s special convention to elect the party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2023 general elections.

Reacting, Dakolo frowned at the rate at which people get away with so many things in Nigeria, and that this is not the first time he has been in such a situation.

Dakolo tweeted, “Why use an artist’s song without their permission in a rally or campaign? The things people get away with in this country called Nigeria. Actually, this is the second time.” 

This is coming after Timi Dakolo was condemned by Netizens for singing at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s event and accused of collecting brown envelopes, yet seeking to change old leaders.

In response to the heavy backlash, Timi merely stated, “I will sing and collect bread my Guy, if it pains you well well, go sing your own”.
