Veteran Actress Shade Akintaylor Ojo Dead at 59
Nollywood has been thrown into mourning again after the death of yet another veteran, Shade Akintaylor known popularly as Oluweri Magbo Ojo.
The tragic news was announced by members of her family who took to social media to mourn their loss.
Shade reportedly passed away in the United Kingdom on Sunday, February 27, at the age of 59 as announced by her family members.
The family of the actress announced her death in a statement which reads:
“The Akintaylor and Ajibola family announces the passage of our sister. She left us quietly and peacefully last night at the UK. Sleep on, our angel, until we part no more.
Our sister would have clocked 60 years in October.”
A friend of the deceased, Patron Solar Akande took to Facebook to mourn the late actress. She wrote:
“She was an excellent and exceptional woman in entertainment industry I first met on my arrival in the UK over two decades now sadly she give up the ghost. AFolashade Oluweri known as Queen”. The legendary queen of A&Q worldwide then. May your soul continue to rest in peace ..”
The actress was well known for her dramatic style of makeup, especially her curvy brows. The news of Oluweri’s demise has thrown Nigerians into shock as many people relived their childhood memories of her as the ‘queen of fishes’.
