Nigeria is in a deplorable state-SDP

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has said that Nigeria may collapse if urgent and guided actions are not put in place.

This was communicated during a press briefing by the Chairman of the party, Webster Okonkwo, in Awka-Anambra State, at the weekend.
The party lamented that the country is currently in a deplorable state, and things need to be put in place to salvage it.

According to him, the foundation for a new and prosperous Nigeria which was laid by the party on June 12, 1993, had been destroyed totally.
“Today, the corporate existence of Nigeria is under increasing threat as the foundation for a new and prosperous Nigeria laid on June 12, 1993, has been destroyed, dismantled and shattered.

“The aftermath is hunger, starvation, poverty, banditry, religious extremism, insurgency and other vices competing fiercely with one another to destroy the very fabrics of this great nation.

“But, in the midst of all these, a new Nigeria is possible. It is possible to rebuild the foundation of this country on the stronghold of justice and fairness. It is possible to enthrone honesty, transparency and good governance in this country.

“It is also possible to re-establish the bonds that held us together as a nation and rekindle our hopes and aspirations for greatness. Yes, that possibility is alive in the SDP,” Okonkwo said.

In other news, leaders and stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta North Senatorial District, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is giving the needed dexterity in political and economic re-engineering to curb the challenges facing the country.
The party leaders and stakeholders passed a vote of confidence on the President in his handling of the affairs of the nation.

With the rising spate of security challenges and economic downturn facing the country, do you agree with the Social Democratic Party that Nigeria may collapse if the needed actions are not put in place? Or are you of the opinion that the present administration is doing well in curtailing the challenges?
