Kylie Jenner Warns Customers Concerning The Security Breach On Her Cosmetics Shopping Site.

Kylie Jenner speaks up after being called out for a security breach in her cosmetics company, as customers lay complaints about not receiving their orders as at when due.

Kylie’s cosmetics company later released an official statement letting their customers know that there had been a security incident with Shopify (One of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms powering over a million businesses worldwide) where the cosmetics are being sold. This resulted in a compromise of names, addresses, emails, product orders and even the last four digits of credit cards of impacted customers.

Shopify reported that less than 200 merchants were affected. Investigations carried out revealed that it was as a result of two support team members engaging in a scheme to obtain customer transactional records of certain merchants.

They also claimed that the incident was not as a result of a technical vulnerability in their platform, and the vast majority of merchants using Shopify were not affected.

According to Shopify, immediately the source of the breach was discovered, access to the Shopify network was terminated for the two culprits. They are under investigation by the FBI for these criminal acts.

The good news is, Shopify confirmed that the full payment details of Kylie’s customers were not compromised. Orders placed on Kylie’s cosmetics site are now safe and secure.

Kylie and her team said the trust from their customers is their major priority and they are making every effort to get additional information about the incident.
