Aiyedatiwa Dissolves Executive Council

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved the State Executive Council.

This was contained in a statement issued by Ebenezer Adeniyan, his Chief Press Secretary, in Akure. The governor also terminated the appointments of all senior special assistants (SSAs) and special assistants (SAs).

The statement reads, ”All members of the Cabinet are to immediately hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.

 “Also, all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) are relieved of their duties, with immediate effect.

“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.

“The Governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the State.”

Recall that Ayedatiwa, took over office after the passing away of his principal, Rotimi Akeredolu, during his swearing-in, the Deputy Governor had stated that he was taking over the mantle of leadership with a heavy heart.

In his acceptance speech, he assured the people of the state that his administration would give priority to their welfare.

Following his inauguration, Aiyedatiwa addressed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from all eighteen local government districts, urging them to adopt a stance of harmony and peace in anticipation of the state’s upcoming governorship contest.

It was the first gathering of stakeholders he had since taking office as governor.

In order to advance the party and the state, Aiyedatiwa emphasized the necessity for all opposing factions within the party to work together and thanked the party leaders for their support.

The governor said, “It is important for me to tell you that as leaders of our party, we must put behind us the events of the last few months and come together as one big family for the progress of the APC and the development of our dear state.”
