“When the pain is deep, go deeper in prayer” Portable turns motivational speaker after assault

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable is dishing out motivation to the public amidst his pains which stems from his recent assault from show organisers.

Recall that Portable landed in hospital after receiving hefty blows from show organisers for not performing at an event that he was paid for. He narrated how there had been up to 40 people who had physically assaulted him.

Narrating the incident, Portable said with a mixture of pidgin English and Yoruba,

“They want to feature me from America. Una gave my manager N2.5 million. As my manager gave me the money, na last year dem give me the money, this year I talk say price don high o.

“I do the video for them after they paid me N1 million again. As I reach there na him dey attack me say I must refund o.

“Won gbe mi kuro n be ni mi o mo nkankan o.”

In his defence, Portable claimed that the organizers did not meet some terms of their agreement. He further stated that the altercation arose because he had raised his performance fees. He also went on to state that even though evil keeps coming to him, God is in control.

Today, the controversial singer took to his Instagram to share a popular quote which read, 

“When the pain is deep, go deeper in prayer”, alongside a picture of his swollen eye from the incident.

As at yesterday, he said he was hospitalised and currently undergoing treatments.
