APC Postpones Presidential Aspirants Screening

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has postponed indefinitely the screening of its presidential aspirants earlier slated for Monday, May 23.

This was contained in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, yesterday. He said a new date would be announced in due course.

The statement reads: “The Screening Exercise for Presidential Aspirants of the All Progressives Congress APC earlier scheduled to be held on Monday, May 23rd, 2022, is at this moment postponed.

“A new date for the exercise will be announced shortly. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”

Meanwhile, the party did not give any reason why it made a move.

Recall that Empire had reported that the ruling party adjusted its schedule of activities for presidential, governorship, National Assembly, and state House of Assembly primary elections, respectively.

The news came just one day after an APC spokeswoman denied that the primary election schedule would be changed.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has in its schedule asked all political parties to hold held its primaries by June 3, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
