“Calabar, you’ll never ever see me again” – Mayorkun vows after heartbreaking event at his concert
Nigerian singer, Mayorkun has with a heavy-laden heart promised never to grace the stages of Calabar ever again after they pulled a fast one on him.
Mayorkun had taken to social media earlier to rant following his explosive show at Calabar. It was a thing of confusion for netizens when Mayorkun vowed never to return to the state as he described his experience there as hellish and a nightmare.
Although the music star he didn’t disclose the exact reason for his decision, he sent a message to other artistes who would be performing at their festivals, wishing them good luck.
He wrote, “I just want to wake up from this dream bro 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
Nightmare is a better word! 🤦🏽♂️
CALABAR, You’ll probably NEVER EVER see me again, goodluck to the other artistes coming for your festivals tho. ❤️
Izz gone! no wam! ❤️”
While the exact cause of Mayorkun’s grievances remains unknown, speculation has arisen, with many assuming that a chain worth millions of Naira was allegedly stolen during the Calabar concert, especially after Iyanya got involved.
Following Mayorkun’s outcry, Iyanya beckoned on his fellow indigenous people to return the stolen item, the Cross River native and Kukere musician alluded to the fact that one of his colleagues had been the victim of theft during the event. Iyanya posted a tweet:
“My calabar people, this is very bad for the peaceful people I know us to be. The government has brought my colleagues to entertain you, all you owe them is protection and great hospitality. If you know anyone who stole from my brother , please return it and I will personally compensate you… Drop it at THE GRAND HOTEL I will personally compensate you PLEASE”.
