Iyabo Ojo slams Naira Marley with N1bn lawsuit after his Legal Threats

Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo has counter-sued famous rapper, Azeez Fashola also known as Naira Marley for ‘deliberately misleading the public’.

Empire had reported days back that Naira Marley hit actress Iyabo Ojo with a N500M (five hundred million naira) lawsuit for defamation of character, and also demands a public apology from her, with claims of the actress’s Instagram account of being the source of malicious and inaccurate content against him.

In response, Iyabo called out the singer’s legal team for not serving her the lawsuit by hand or through mail, and instead preferring to disseminate it online. She is also demanding N1billion damages from the artiste for first bringing to the media a letter that was not served to her.

The document read in part:

“OUR CLIENT’S DEMANDS

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that, our client finds your client’s demands as spurious, frivolous and clout chasing but shall initiate an action in the event your client fails to do so. Our client shall be claiming the sum of ONE BILLION NAIRA (N1, 000, 000, 000.00) deliberately misleading the public a letter was served on her with the intent of causing grievous harm which have indeed led to grievous loss of income and lower her standards amongst right thinking individuals, Nigerian and International associates, corporate institutions and reputable companies our client works for as ambassadors and/or COUNTER-CLAIM against your client in the sum of ONE BILLION NAIRA (N1, 000, 000, 000.00) for first bringing to the media and/or public, a letter addressed to her BUT DELIBERATELY NOT DELIVERED/SERVED.”

Throwing her weight behind Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh declared that they started together, and so they would finish it together.

“We started together, we end it together.

Regardless”, she wrote.

Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of Iyabo, had also taken to her defense, noting how Naira was yet to resolve issues of Mohbad’s catalog and unpaid royalties, yet was filing a lawsuit against her mother.

Blasting him for his audacity, she pointed out his hypocrisy of suing her mother, when there are videos of him bullying Mohbad before his untimely demise.
