Obi Cubana Shuts Down His Abuja Club After A Female Clubber Was Allegedly Electrocuted

Billionaire socialite, Obi Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana has been forced to temporarily shut down operations of his Abuja club, ‘Hustle and Bustle’, after a female clubber was allegedly electrocuted to death.

The sad news was shared by a Twitter user @AaesAae. She wrote,

“A young girl that went to Hustle and Bustle last night got electrocuted. So so sad!”

Another Twitter user @KhalidOshoke also concurred to the sad news, narrating how he saw the Twitter thread, only to be later informed that the victim was a sister to his friend. He said the family of the deceased were at Hustle & Bustle in the morning, seeking CCTV footage to at least know the cause of their sister’s death but the employees keep insisting that it’s only the manager that has access to the footage and the “Manager is still sleeping”.

In a different tweet, Oshoke said the manager finally showed up and released the footage and they found out the victim was electrocuted by one of the metals on the floor.

Following the heartbreaking circumstance, an Instagram statement posted simultaneously by Cubana and his club, Hustle & Bustle, read,

“We are closed till further notice. This is due to the loss of our esteemed client. We are deeply saddened by this situation and need time to heal from it. Our prayers are with the families of the lost soul. May her soul Rest In Peace. We sympathise with the family on this unbearable loss.

Kindly bear with us as we pass through this storm.”

Obi Cubana was recently detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for three days over alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

He was, however, released on administrative bail, but may be required to visit the EFCC headquarters from time to time until the conclusion of an investigation, as reported by the Punch.
