Chef Deo completes her 150hours Cook-a-thon to break Hilda Baci’s Guinness World Record

Ondo-based chef Adeola Adeyeye has successfully completed a 150-hour cook-a-thon to unseat Hilda Baci’s 93-hour record.

Deo embarked on the cookathon to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual on June 30 and eventually hit the estimated 150 hours by July 7.

A video posted on Instagram by Instablog showed when Deo and her numerous fans counted down to the last seconds. Many of her supporters shouted and cheered her up as the clock chimed 150 hours and went off.

In the now-viral video, a large crowd gathered at the venue of the event in Ile-Oluji, the headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government in Ondo State to celebrate with Chef Don over her new feat.

Her manager, Ayotunde Fagbamiye, had earlier conveyed the chef’s optimism and enthusiasm in accomplishing the task and becoming the new record holder.

He said; “Guinness World Records granted her approval to undertake the cook-a-thon. We were elated upon receiving the notification that she can proceed to break the record for an individual’s cooking marathon.

“She possesses great energy and is prepared to cook for 150 hours. Her passion and determination are evident, and I am confident she will successfully reach the end of this journey.”

If Chef Deo submits her cooking evidence to the Guinness World Records and it is certified accurate, she will become the new record holder, unseating the current record holder, 26-year-old Hilda Baci with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.
