Chelsea, Liverpool share the spoils in thrilling Super Sunday encounter

The new season started on Friday, but it was the Super Sunday showdown between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge that everyone really looked forward to, and thankfully, it didn’t disappoint, as both teams had to settle for a point a piece, after an end to end performance.

A very eventful first half saw Liverpool take the lead through Luis Diaz before newcomer,

Axel Disasi, leveled for the Blues in his debut game.

Before the equalizer, Mo Salah thought he’d doubled the lead for the visitors, but the goal was chalked for offside after a VAR review, after Chelsea equalized, Ben Chilwell, also thought he’d put his side ahead, but his goal was overturned for an offside, following a VAR review as well.

Chelsea cake into this season off the back of a disappointing one and while they couldn’t get all three points, it wasn’t a bad first game under their new manager, Mauricio Pochettino.
