Chelsea, Man City play out thrilling 8-goal showpiece

Chelsea pull off what is arguably their best performance so far this season to hold Manchester City to a 4-4 draw in a rollercoaster encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring with a 25th penalty before Thiago Silva leveled, then Raheem Sterling put Chelsea in front, and Manuel Akanji, evened the score just at the stroke of the break

Two minutes after the break, Haaland put City back in front, before Nicolas Jackson drew level again.

The Citizens thought they had secured a win when Rodri scored in the 86th minute, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men kept at their efforts paid off with a late penalty, which former City player, Cole Palmer, calmly converted, handing City their first draw of the season.
