Doja Cat’s brother accused of abusing her and knocking out her teeth

Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer, Doja Cat’s mother has filed a temporary restraining order against her 30-year-old son and Doja’s older brother, Raman Dalithando Dlamini, for allegedly being ‘physically and verbally’ abusive to the singer.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Deborah alleged Raman gave his sister cuts and bruises, as well as knocking out her teeth and destroying or stealing some of her property.

She went on to allege her son had been verbally abusive to his famous sister in a “very degrading and demaning” way and accused him of making the 28-year-old star feel “unsafe and traumatised”.

Her son also allegedly threatened to kill her, according to the document.

When it comes to her own safety, Deborah alleged she had been physically abused and threatened multiple times over the last year by her son and claimed the most recent incident took place earlier this month.

Deborah also noted in her documents she had a restraining order against Raman in the past but it had since expired.

In response to the filing, a Los Angeles judge granted Sawyer court-ordered protection from Dlamini, pending a hearing for a permanent restraining order.

However, the judge did not grant the order for Doja, instead stating the singer would need to request an order of her own.

Doja is the youngest child of her mom and dad, Dumisani Dlamini, and was born in Los Angeles before moving to New York.

She’s previously admitted that she doesn’t know her dad ‘very well’, though she described him as an ‘incredible dancer and a great actor.

In  a 2021 profile in Rolling Stone magazine, Doja revealed that she and her brother were one of the few mixed-race kids in their neighborhood and experienced racism.

She shared that most of her friends growing up were white and Jewish and that her brother used to make fun of her for not having Black friends.
