EPL: Chelsea held to frustrating draw by Everton
Everton side put up a resolute display to prevent Chelsea from moving up to two points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.
After a goalless first half, Mason Mount gave the hosts a deserved lead in the 70th minute, four minutes later, 19-year-old, Jarrad Branthwaite, equalized for Rafa Benitez’s side in his first premier league appearance of the season.
Thiago Silva had a chance to win it for the hosts late on, but his powerful header got saved by Pickford, as the depleted visitors’ made sure to hold their own till the end.
The result leaves Chelsea at third, four points behind leaders City, with Everton remaining at 14th.
