EPL: Ronaldo ends goal drought as United grab vital win
Cristiano Ronaldo ended his frustrating goal drought as Manchester United secured a much-needed win over 10-man Brighton to find their way back into the Premier League top four.
The Portuguese who had gone six games without scoring grabbed the opener with a stunning strike six minutes after the break.
Three minutes later, Brighton skipper Lewis Dunk was sent off following a VAR review of the defender’s foul on Anthony Elanga.
Despite being a man down, Brighton still remained a threat upfront with David De Gea pulling off some goalkeeping heroics, yet again, to keep the visitors at bay.
Brighton were still hoping to salvage a point when Bruno Fernandes sealed the victory with a second goal in the final minute of injury-time, much to the relief of Ralf Ragnick, whose side has been struggling since the start of the year.
